I’m Danielle Roessle, LCSW, Executive Career and Business Alignment Coach, and founder of Inner Compass Coach.
As a career development professional with a decade of experience, I've worked with hundreds of clients who have tried career assessments or worked with other coaches prior to working with me, who were unsuccessful at figuring out their career or business direction. While assessments have their place (we use several in our practice) and can generalize your strengths and career options, they are limited because they tell you what you already know, ignore your deepest drivers, and recommend career or business options that ignore the realities of the job market.
I have explored inner childhood psychology and career development extensively. What I have learned is that the best way to find a career or business that's a better fit is to go back to the source of where your motivations developed- childhood.
Childhood is the doorway to show you what makes you feel alive, what holds you back, and what gives you a sense of contribution and fulfillment. Assessments cannot do this.
I have also learned that as a coach, our role is to help bring career or business options to the table that mirror your needs and are in demand, which assessments cannot do.
